In the interests of good scientific practice, research funders and institutions demand a responsible approach to research data management. With increasing digitization, in many cases this also includes making research data publicly accessible in order to ensure transparency in research and enable the subsequent use of the data for scientific purposes. The publication of research data promotes the scientific visibility and reputation of researchers.
Background
Preparations
Research data must be prepared for publication in such a way that no ethical and/or legal requirements are violated.
Where?
Curated research data can be published in subject-specific or interdisciplinary institutional repositories as well as in special data journals. To enable re-use, the data must be provided with a persistent identifier (e.g. DOI) and a usage license (e.g. Creative Commons) upon publication. We will be happy to advise you.
